About the Commissioning Celebration
The MIP Commissioning Celebration is a culmination of a nine-month process of intense training for aspiring ministers in the Church of God. During the Saturday service, the MIP candidates and spouses who completed the program and the supervising pastors who mentored them this year will be recognized.
Congratulations to the MIP candidates and spouses, supervising pastors, State MIP coordinators, State Office assistants, and administrative bishops for completing the 2025–2026 Ministerial Internship Program.
Dr. Gary Lewis, General Overseer
Saturday 9:30 a.m.
Bishop Gary Lewis, D.D., currently serves as the General Overseer for the Church of God. His ministry experience includes serving the church as a student pastor, senior pastor, and state youth and discipleship director. In 2008, Dr. Lewis was elected by the the Church of God General Assembly to serve as the International Assistant Director of Youth and Discipleship, then in 2012 as the International Director. In 2016, he was appointed state administrative bishop for South Georgia, where he served until his election to the Executive Committee in 2022. He has served as a member of the International Executive Council (Council of 18). From 2022 to 2024, he served as Secretary General for the denomination. Gary met his wife, Lori, while attending East Coast Bible College. They have three children and two grandchildren.
Reverend Maurice Huggins Jr., Lead Pastor of Mountain West Church

Maurice Huggins Jr., known as Mo, was born and raised in Connecticut. He committed his life to Christ at a young age and during the past twelve years has served as student pastor, teaching pastor, and associate pastor. He is currently the lead pastor of Mountain West Church in the suburbs of Atlanta. He has an undergraduate degree in Pastoral Leadership, a master's in Homiletics, and is completing his Doctorate of Ministry in Biblical Preaching. His greatest joy is his family—his wife Tiana and their three sons Maurice III, Maverick, and Myles. Mo is a gifted communicator with a passion to see Revelation 7:9 become a reality on earth as it will be in Heaven.
